About

I first became interested in photography while studying graphic design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee and took photography as a support subject to my main degree. As this was in the days long before digital cameras, we used traditional film SLR cameras and also learned black & white film processing and darkroom printing techniques.

I now work for a graphic design company in Leith, Edinburgh and one of my tasks is spending many hours in Photoshop re-touching images for print. However, after many years of photographic inactivity I suddenly rediscovered the passion for taking my own pictures again when I bought a Nikon DSLR and northernxposure was born.
